GRAPEVINE, Tex., October 6, 2016 | Christian News Service | -- Fatherlessness is a growing epidemic and is considered to be the leading indicator to many socio-economic problems and increased rates of hunger, poverty, drug addiction, and health challenges.* One solution to correcting these critical issues is found in teaching men and mentoring boys through character development and training. For thirty-nine years, Christian Men’s Network (CMN) has supported grassroots efforts to train men and fathers in over 100 nations through the Maximized Manhood curriculum authored by the late Dr. Edwin Louis Cole.

“Fathers are crucial to the long term sustainable health of any community. Building and training fathers helps to heal communities.  We have seen crime, violence and health issues reduced and transformation occur in communities when they teach men and boys how to walk in integrity, truth and the meaning of true manhood,” states Dr. Paul Louis Cole, CMN cofounder and president.

CMN was launched by Maximized Manhood author Edwin Louis Cole in 1977. CMN books, curriculum and videos are the most widely used men’s discipleship resources in the world. CMN materials are being used in every state and currently active in 116 nations.  Pastors, churches, business leaders, government officials, school administrators, and prison chaplains find CMN materials remarkably effective in any culture or community. Middle school principals report better attendance and reduced disciplinary incidences. Churches with active men’s programs show an average increase of 20% in membership, giving and volunteers.

As part of its global initiative this November, Christian men from around the world are converging/gathering at the Lions Roar 2016 Global Men’s Summit in Dallas Texas November 9-11. Lions Roar is designed to provide teaching and time to exchange strategic solutions. Leaders in men’s discipleship are coming from every state and from more than 50 nations to participate in workshops and breakout sessions.

“The reason for gathering these influential leaders is to express practical answers to the issues that face our world. Leaders are coming from the rugged streets of West Baltimore, the rough and tumble favelas of Rio, the tumultuous Philippines, and more,” Cole continues, “CMN is more than a ministry, we are a human justice mission strategically focused to defeat fatherlessness, stop child abuse, and improve communities through practical training that provides long term benefit and results you can see. We are fully committed to the imperative that every child deserves a loving dad.”

Lions Roar 2016 will focus on helping Christian leaders advance and expand their mission with strategies that include mentoring, youth camps, social media, building strong families and powerful social communities. Dedicated men from all streams of Christianity are invited to Lions Roar on November 9-11, at Gateway Church/Grand Prairie, in Dallas, Texas.
